Welcome to the October Personalization update !
We've been super focused on uniting the Piano and Cxense platforms, and as a result we've had to reduce the Personalization Platform release note cadence. In the short term, we will be trialing new monthly release notes to ensure we continue to share all the great work from the Personalization team, whilst we keep focus on unifying all the best features from our respective platforms.
Our wider notification channels, along with the internet are abuzz with updates, so, let's get on with the personalization updates ...
First up, a feature we all knew was coming - having experienced major enhancements to Content modules in August. Collections, Per-position tuning, and more is now available within Engage modules thanks to the:
Major Enhancement for Personalized Content delivery within Engage Modules
The full gamut of capabilities rolled out to Content modules in August is now available within Engage Modules ! This ensures you can build even more engaging experiences - not just for specific audiences, and specific delivery locations, though also to a schedule if required.
As such, this release provides huge potential enhancements to all Engagement Personalization capability !
Important to note, as Engage Modules contain many campaigns, the resulting default experience incorporates the same templating format, items, and style. This is managed within the Engage Modules Settings >> Personalized Content view:
As always, within the Presentation view, you can maintain complete control over any custom experience as required. The format aspect of the quick select shown above is great to get a quick 'base layout style' together, though often, a more advanced, site-specific style is required to align with other page and/or site elements.
Campaign Archiving!
Great news - the long-awaited 'Campaign Archive' feature has reached general access ! This feature helps solve an ever expanding campaign list for modules that have deployed many campaigns - every so often, you should consider keeping the list manageable.
Archiving ensures you maintain visibility of the campaign, and it's performance, though you need to move it aside in order to focus more on other important campaigns. Archiving groups all 'complete' campaigns into a collapsible component - to get them out of the way of the day-to-day.
Simply select 'archive' from the campaign settings icon (rhs of the campaign listings view) .
First step is to validate you are no longer going to need the campaign function. Be sure to consider future use, as this is a one-way process, only appropriate for campaigns that are no longer needed, though you require report data for the future.
Once you commit to archiving a campaign (it's important to take a moment before you do!) , you will see the new 'Archived Campaigns' component:
All reporting data for your archived campaigns are still present - these 'has-been' campaigns just no longer interfere with your management of live & upcoming campaigns. You could think of it as putting your well spent campaigns out to pasture !
Remember, every campaign in your campaign list requires a lookup to show their statistics - the more campaigns you maintain the longer you wait. Archiving campaigns will reduce the time taken to present and update the data presented in the Interface.
Archived Campaign Reporting
You will also note a new filtration option in Campaign performance reports - 'Archived'. Simply toggle this one as per other filter toggles to find the campaigns you wish to monitor - note archived campaign data wont change of course - by design!
Archived Campaigns can be removed altogether once you no longer require them via the right hand side campaign tools cog icon.
Along with the huge amount of highly visible upgrades, there is always improvements to be made behind the scenes - here's a quick list of some notable items:
- Propensity Modelling enhancements - continued improvement of the propensity models based on a variety of features and attributes. (we will have much more to share on the topic of propensity calculation and insights in upcoming releases!)
- Bug Fix: Max Age refinement - ensuring always valid values
- Improved Graph / Chart rendering
- Tech Stack refactors
- Continued end to end test improvements
- Improvement added Site Reference to the Product affiliation form
- Module Settings tab navigation improvements
- Collection Query handling and presentation improvements
- App-wide layout enhancements and unification
Thanks for reading, and again if you have recommendations on how we might improve our release note format, just reach out !
Happy Engagement !
Simon and the multi-talented Personalization team.
