Booking an overlay banner

In order to book an overlay banner, you will first of all need to have an 1×1 content unit on your website where you can book your Campaign.

Then you need to book two different campaigns in a campaign group.

  • One campaign with the creative only, and
  • One campaign with the template, placement, priority level, targeting etc.

Beneath is a step by step guide on how to book an overlay banner.

  1. Create a “campaign group” by going to the “advertising” tab in the top menu, and choosing “Add campaign group”. Give the campaign group a name and first- and last date and click “Commit”.

Now you need to add the first campaign - the one that contains the creative.

  1. Click “add campaign” from within the campaign group.
  2. Give the campaign a name. The first- and last dates are saved from the campaign group.
  3. Choose the priority level “Exclusive” in the drop down menu.
  4. Give the campaign the correct dimensions and click “Commit”.
Now you should be in the “campaign view”. Berfore you go further, you need to take note of the “campaign ID”. You need to save this ID for use later in the booking proces. The ID is visible in the browser address line (URL).

  1. Now go to the “Creatives” in the top right corner of the “campaign view” and click “Edit”.
  2. Upload your overlay creative here, either as an image, HTML og flash file.
  3. Go back to the “campaign view” and change the status to “Approved”. You don't need to add any content units!

Go back to the campaign group and click “Add campaign” once again, to add the second campaign which is going to be the 1×1 pixel campaign.

  1. Give the campaign a name. Again, the first- and last dates are saved from the campaign group.
  2. Choose the priority level “Exclusive” in the drop down menu.
  3. Give the campaign the dimensions 1×1 pixels and click “Commit” to create the campaign.
To give the campaign a Frequency go to the “Targeting” box. This is optional and therefore up to you to decide on the frequency lifetime.
  1. You should now be back at the “campaign view”. Go to “Creatives”, click “Edit”. In here you unfold “Add using serverside template” and choose “Overlay”.
    1. In “Enter Cxense Display campaign id” you insert the id from the first campaign that we saved earlier.
    2. Insert the overlay banner's actual width and height in “Overlay width” and “Overlay hight”.
    3. Insert a close text in “Close text” (e.g. “Close [x]”), and click “Commit” to finish.
  2. From here go to the “Placement” box on the right side, and click “Include” to choose the overlay content unit.
  3. End the overlay booking by going back to the “campaign view” and change the status to “Approved”.
